A customer or prospect of your product. Companies group users together and help you track feedback and prioritize by customer account.
What is a Company?
A Company represents a customer account, organization, or prospect in Productboard. Companies are central to customer-driven product management — they let you see which accounts are requesting what, prioritize based on revenue or strategic importance, and track feedback at the account level.
Companies contain users (individual people at that company). Productboard can automatically assign users to companies by matching the domain of the company URL with the domain of the user's email address.
When notes are linked to a company, all feedback is attributed to that account. This feeds into the Customer Importance Score — a per-feature breakdown showing how much demand comes from each company — making it easy to prioritize based on which customers care most about which features.
When to use it
- CRM synchronization — Sync company data from Salesforce, HubSpot, or your internal database to keep Productboard's customer records up to date.
- Customer-driven prioritization — Query companies and their linked notes to understand which accounts have the most open requests for a given feature.
- Account-level reporting — Build views that show feature demand aggregated by company, weighted by revenue or contract size.
- Customer context — Look up a company before a sales or success meeting to see all related feedback and requested features.
- Data enrichment — Update company records with metadata from external sources (revenue, industry, plan tier).
